Dear Fellow Pool Users,
As you already know, the front parking lot redo at Fremont High
School is complete. Hooray!
See photo below. The new exit and
better flow should provide much needed relief for patrons of the pool. And, wouldn’t you agree that the attractiveness
of the lot is 100% improved!
A next step was to get a bike rack. Lisa Rosenblum has confirmed that the bike
rack is on the way and will be placed in a location that swim users said was
desirable. Many ‘thank you’s’ to Ms.
Rosenblum, from the City of Sunnyvale, who
has been super helpful. The photo below
depicts where the bike rack will be placed.
Lisa says, "The rack will be positioned in the same direction as the bike in the picture. It has been approved by the District, City and CSC."
Next items include the completion of the new student drop-off lane
and bus lane on Fremont Avenue. An additional student drop off lane will reduce the demand on the front parking lot. As you
have noticed, this is a big project and we are very proud of our High school
District for taking on this needed improvement.
If you get a chance, please thank District staff or board members as
folks don’t usually get too much praise for working on parking lots.
Finally, please watch for more news related to our 10th
anniversary! The pool’s grand opening occurred
on June 26, 2002. Since the parking area
was under construction, we did not have a ceremony at the pool as we thought we
might, but we will do something to commemorate this milestone.
Keep swimming!
Holly
